Skriber helps clinicians turn patient conversations into structured clinical documentation. Use this FAQ as a quick starting point, then open the linked help article when you want step-by-step instructions.
Where should I start?
What is the best way to record a visit?
For most users, the recommended path is the Skriber iOS app. Keep the app open, keep your screen awake, and wait for processing to finish before switching apps or closing Skriber. If your workflow requires desktop access, use Chrome and keep the Skriber tab open while recording and processing.
Can I use Skriber on both my phone and computer?
Yes. Sign in with the same email on each device. Visits and notes are tied to your account, so a visit recorded in the iOS app can be reviewed later from app.skriber.com on desktop.
How do I move a note into my EHR?
Some organizations have direct EHR integrations configured. If your account does not have an integration, use Copy Note or Download PDF, then paste or attach the note in your EHR. See Use Skriber with your EHR or EMR.
What if my note does not generate?
Keep Skriber open and connected while the visit uploads and processes. If the visit shows recorded time but no transcript or note, contact support with the visit date/time, device used, and whether the app or tab was closed, backgrounded, or interrupted. See What to do if your note is stuck or missing.
Can Skriber recover a missing note?
Sometimes support can investigate whether audio or transcript data is available, but recovery is not guaranteed. Contact support quickly with the approximate visit time and device/app used. Do not include unnecessary patient-identifying details.
Can I customize note templates?
Yes. Skriber can support custom note formats and specialty-specific workflows. Send support the note type, specialty, desired headings, heading order, and a de-identified example of the format you want. See How to use custom templates.
What languages does Skriber support?
The Skriber app interface is currently English. Transcription settings and supported spoken-language workflows can vary by account, and final generated notes are currently output in English. Contact support before relying on a non-English workflow for patient documentation. See Language support in Skriber.
How long are notes available?
Notes are accessible for at least 30 days. If you need a longer exact retention window for compliance or administrative review, contact support.
Is patient consent required?
Consent requirements vary by state, organization, and care setting. Skriber recommends getting patient consent before recording and following your organization's policies.
Is Skriber HIPAA-focused?
Skriber is built for healthcare documentation workflows and provides security information at trust.skriber.com. For BAA or organization-specific security questions, contact support.
How much does Skriber cost?
Standard public pricing is $125/month or $1,020/year paid annually upfront. Your exact amount, renewal date, and plan details are shown in Settings > My Plan. See Pricing, trials, and plans.
How do I cancel or manage billing?
Go to Settings > My Plan, then select Manage Subscription. If you do not see the correct subscription, you may be signed into a different email than the one used for billing. See How to manage your Skriber subscription.
