What to do if you see Error uploading file

Troubleshoot upload errors after recording a visit in Skriber.

An Error uploading file message usually means the audio did not finish uploading, so Skriber could not finish transcription or note generation.

Do this first

  • Keep Skriber open.

  • Check your internet connection.

  • Wait briefly if the visit is still uploading.

  • If using iPhone, keep the app open and the screen awake.

  • If using desktop, keep Chrome open and keep the Skriber tab visible.

If you still see the error

Contact support if the same error happens more than once or if the visit shows recorded time but no transcript or note. Support can check whether usable audio or transcript data exists, but recovery is not guaranteed.

What to include

  • Approximate visit time.

  • Device used.

  • App or browser used.

  • Whether Skriber was closed, backgrounded, or interrupted.

  • Any upload, microphone, or transcription error you saw.

Do not include unnecessary patient-identifying details.

For the next recording

  • Use the Skriber iOS app when possible.

  • Do not force-close the app during recording or upload.

  • Do not switch apps during recording or upload.

  • If using desktop, use Chrome and do not close the tab while processing.

  • Use stable Wi-Fi or strong cellular service.
