Record your first visit in Skriber

Choose a patient and template, record clear audio, generate the note, and review it before charting.

For phone recording, use the Skriber iPhone or Android app. For computer recording, use Chrome. Start with a short test before a live patient visit.

Before recording

  • Confirm patient consent according to law and organization policy.

  • Allow microphone access and confirm the audio indicator moves.

  • Choose the patient and the correct note template.

  • Add Context (optional) if the visit needs one-time background information.

Record the visit

  1. Choose Start Recording.

  2. Keep the device positioned to hear the clinician and patient clearly.

  3. Use Pause and Continue Recording when needed.

  4. Record at least about 30 seconds of clear clinical audio; Context does not replace the audio requirement.

  5. Choose End Visit once.

Wait for processing

Keep Skriber available and connected while the audio uploads, transcribes, and generates the note. Do not force-close the app or close the Chrome tab during upload.

Review and chart

Read every section, correct missing or inaccurate details, then use Copy Note, a section copy, PDF, or EHR Sync when available. Confirm the correct patient and encounter in the EHR.
