Why would you Use Additional audio?

Pause, Resume & Replay Capabilities

Skriber includes the ability to pause and continue recording as needed, which makes additional audio crucial when:

  • A consultation is interrupted and needs resumption later.

  • The doctor wants to insert a post-session verbal note summarizing observations.

  • The app can sync multiple audio segments into a single transcript for continuity

Interrupted Consultations

Use Case: A patient visit gets interrupted due to emergencies, lab results, or nurse interactions.

Benefit:

  • The doctor can pause the recording, attend to the interruption, and resume without starting a new session.

  • Maintains contextual continuity in transcripts and summaries.

  • Prevents loss of earlier discussion data and avoids fragmented records.

Post-Consultation Reflections

Use Case: After the patient leaves, the doctor remembers important observations or instructions.

Benefit:

  • Doctor can append new audio to clarify or elaborate on treatment plans, medication details, or observations not discussed live.

  • Enhances the completeness and clinical value of the summary.

Follow-up During the Same Day

Use Case: A patient returns later in the day with a follow-up question or new symptom.

Benefit:

  • Rather than starting a new session, the doctor can continue the existing recording, linking both encounters together.

  • Creates a single summary for the full episode of care, reducing fragmentation in documentation.

Multistep Consultations (Diagnostics Waiting)

Use Case: A doctor begins a session, pauses while waiting for on-the-spot diagnostics (e.g., imaging, blood test), then resumes after results are in.

Benefit:

  • Allows comprehensive session recording, capturing both initial discussion and post-diagnostic plan in one flow.

  • Saves time by not having to manage multiple entries.

Team-Based Care Updates

Use Case: A doctor consults with a specialist or nurse after the initial consultation and wants to record the outcome.

Benefit:

  • Allows real-time updates without restarting documentation.

  • Promotes better multi-disciplinary collaboration with accurate additions.

Legal and Audit Readiness

Use Case: Doctor realizes additional context is needed for compliance or medico-legal defense.

Benefit:

  • Adds context or clarification without altering or overwriting the original conversation.

  • Provides an immutable, time-stamped trail of the care process.

Voice-Driven Note Finalization

Use Case: Doctor prefers to dictate conclusions or summary notes via audio post-consultation.

Benefit:

  • Supports doctors who prefer dictation over typing for finishing notes.

  • Complements the AI summary with the doctor’s own words or emphasis.
